REDEMPTIONCORPS' CREDO

We who walk by faith, not by sight, make it our aim to be well pleasing to Him and to persuade all for the love of Christ compels us to no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died for us and rose again.  We regard no one according to the flesh, and believe, teach and proclaim to the whole world that if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. By God Who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; declare boldly:

God is in Christ Jesus reconciling the world to Himself, not counting our trespasses against us, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore all on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God! For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ and who also made us able ministers of the New Covenant.

Grounded in 2 Corinthians 5:16–21; James 2:1–9; Genesis 1:27; and Galatians 3:26–28.

REDEMPTIONCORPS INTERNATIONAL rejects racism, unjust favoritism, class-based discrimination, and the devaluation of people on the basis of sex. We affirm the God-given dignity of every human being and commit ourselves to proclaiming the Gospel, serving our neighbors, and making disciples without partiality. We will not measure a person's worth by worldly status, wealth, ethnicity, or social influence. Our conduct, relationships, and ministry practices must reflect the reconciling love of Jesus Christ and remain accountable to the authority of Scripture.

RCI's commitment to the disenfranchised is more than a benevolent outreach program. It shapes the culture of the organization itself. We cannot proclaim reconciliation to people outside our doors while tolerating contempt, favoritism, or demeaning treatment inside them.

That gives us a standard for both the missionary in the field and the leader on the plaform.

We are reconciled people who carry the message of reconciliation.

We have been redeemed so that we can become instruments of redemption in the hands of God.

We have been restored so that we can participate in the restoration of others.

We have received a spiritual family so that we can become spiritual family. 

REDEMPTIONCORPS INTERNATIONAL  refuses to define people merely by:

Their past, their failures, their family history, their social position, their wounds, their economic condition, their reputation, or what somebody else has said about them.

We see people through what God can make them in Christ.

Then comes the declaration:

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

The Missionary's Promise:

Because Christ has reconciled me to God, I will represent Him faithfully.

The missionary's external service must flow from an internal work of Christ.

Christ builds the person.
The person carries the character.
Character sustains the calling.
Calling produces ministry.
Ministry makes disciples.
Disciples reproduce.
God gives the increase.

The Church should be able to demonstrate something infinitely deeper—Christlike love, holiness, truth, compassion, and sacrificial service flowing from people who have actually been transformed by Jesus. Not Christian cosmetics. 

Christ formed in us.
