ARTICLE III - GOD THE SON

ARTICLE III- GOD THE SON

REDEMPTIONCORPS INTERNATIONAL believes, proclaims and teaches: Jesus Christ is God in human flesh, the Second Person of the Trinity, divine, even as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are. He was born of a virgin and thus incarnated in flesh. He lived a sinless life and is the only Saviour of all mankind by His death, burial and resurrection. He actually resurrected physically from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and is now the believers’ Great High Priest and intercessor.

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. - Hebrews 10:5-7 KJV

Jesus became sin for our sake - Jesus Made us the righteousness of God. Jesus is our Sin offering, the Propitiation for our sins. He is our Apostle and High Priest of our profession (our first declaration that Jesus Christ is Lord).

He is the Word made flesh. Jesus IS the Word of God, our Redeemer, our Savior, our King, our Ruler. The exact representation of the Father and Firstborn of every creature.

The Father created everything by Him and for Him. Jesus is a merciful and compassionate High Priest and able to give assistance and support in times of hardship and distress.

Hebrews 13:8

(Immutable)

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

2 Corinthian 5:21

(Jesus became sin for our sake - Jesus Made us the righteousness of God.)

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Genesis 3:15

(The Protoevangelium— the impetus that began mankind’s redemption from eternal death and the power of darkness)

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Hebrews 10:11-14

(Jesus: our Sin offering )

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Hebrew 3:1

(Jesus: our Apostle and High Priest of our profession— our first declaration that Jesus Christ is Lord.)

Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Hebrews 4:12

(Jesus: The Word made flesh)

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Isaiah 53:5

(Jesus: took our sin, sickness and deserved punishment)

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

John 1:1-5, 14

(Jesus is the Word of God)

 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not…

&

…And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Galatians 3:13

(Jesus is our Redeemer)

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Colossians 1:13-17

(Jesus our Savior, our King, our Redeemer, Propitiation for our sins, The exact representation of the Father and Firstborn of every creature, The Father created everything by Him and for Him.)

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Hebrews 2:17-18

(A merciful and compassionate High Priest and able to give assistance and support in times of hardship and distress)

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

I Peter 3:18

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Hebrews 1:2

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
